It was unusually bright, this light of the full moon this evening. Shining bright against the dark staircase that led to Grass market. Following the light of that full moon down, down, down the steps…I’m glad I didn’t drink too much tonight, I hope I can get back up. At the bottom of the steps holds my beloved cobblestone streets of Edinburgh. Oh, how I love this city so. A quick look left has me meandering right into the Poisoned Pen, my favorite watering hole. Dark purple velvet walls and vampiric vibes, I’d loved this places. There always seemed to be a witch lurking around. You could feel her when you walked into the place, casting her magic unto you through drinks and spirits made by the barkeep. A cigar lounge was just on the other side of the bar, you could almost see it through the glass, uncles and Dads of all sorts who wanted a tonic of their own, just none of what the witches had to offer.

It was unusually bright and harsh, the glair from the patrol car. Reflecting the rain dripping from my fedora as I stood on the curb waiting for my cue to step in and remove the remains of the poor soul lying in the street. Funeral service doesn't come at the most pleasant times. But it's what we do.
